Judge rules in favor of Hirschfelder

State law does not bar teachers from having sex with 18-year-old students.  That's the decision of a three-judge panel of the Washington Court of Appeals, which on Tuesday ordered the dismissal of a case brought against Hoquiam High School's former choir teacher.  After the ruling, Hoquiam School Superintendent Mike Parker spoke to KXRO News.

Willis takes office

After 13 years there is a new representative for District One on the Board of Grays Harbor County Commissioners.  Before a crowd packed with friends and supporters, Terry Willis was sworn into office on Monday by County Auditor Vern Spatz.

Loggers drop heartbreaker

Despite 361 total yards and four scores by Johnny Boggs, the Wishkah Loggers came up just two points short of a state title on Saturday, falling to Lacrosse-Washtucna-Kahlotus 64-62.  The Loggers finish the season 10-2.

Cosmopolis dam breach causes urban flooding

A small dam that controls the Mill Creek watershed has broken, causing flooding in residential areas of Cosmopolis.  The flooding is impacting some homes in the area of the Cosmopolis flats and several streets are flooded with several inches of water.   Mayor Vickie Raines says Rognlins Construction has been contacted to fix the damage and will begin repairs today.
